Kickoff to
Construction
Just before the Texas Tech vs. Texas football game the brotherhood
assembled at Cliff and Karen Watt's home for a most special
meeting. Brothers from across Texas had made the journey to
Lubbock and many stories were told over a nice lunch.

Brother
Alan Henry (the person...not the lake) calls the group together
for some special announcements. Cliff Watt is introduced and
shares with everyone the amazing news that the money had been
raised and the lodge construction started in January of
2003.

Brother Walter
Huffman (don't call me General...don't call me Dean...just call me
Walt!) addresses the group (troops?) following the wonderful news
of the new lodge.

Bill and Laurie
Killgore, Gary Rose, and Phyllis and Jay Kinnison smile for the
camera before going to watch Tech romp over Texas.
We Need Your
Help!
While the
building has gone up we need to maintain and outfit the interior and provide
the "extras". We are hoping that each brother will look
at their situation and lend a hand where they can. Look over the
list and complete the form at the bottom of the page. There are three
ways you can help:
Method #1:
Provide Business Contacts
With a "laundry list" of needed items we are asking that
alumni brothers who might be involved in the sale of such items
let us know so we might save some money by the purchase of items
at a reduced, wholesale cost. For example, if a brother works for
a kitchen equipment company and can provide ovens, refrigerator or
sinks at cost then we will utilize that brother as a vendor for
those items.
Method #2: Make
Targeted Donations
If a brother has a special interest in an area or function within
the new facility they can underwrite the cost or donate the items
for that purpose. We will be offering brothers the opportunity to
have themselves or another recognized for the targeted donation by
their name being engraved and posted on or near the item/area.
Method #3: Make
General Donation: Buy a Brick
We appreciate those brothers who make unrestricted gifts to either
the Texas Beta House Corporation (no tax deduction) or the Bill
Collins Dedicated Endowment Fund account of the national
fraternity (tax deduction). These monies give flexibility to the
House Corporation in providing for the general needs of the
project.

Items that are
available for Sponsorship
The following items/areas are available for sponsorship. Some
items are worthy additions to the house while others are just fun.
We need to protect and display the 50 years of historical items we
have and a trophy or display case would be a suitable gift. On the
other hand why not memorialize that favorite brother who stands
out in your mind with his own urinal or women's toilet?
